My Math DlO

This week we learnt a new strategy W.A.L.T add numbers by splitting them into parts. We needed to make a DLO on how to answer and to teach you something and  didn't need to make to make this video  in till next week but I decided to get if finish early I hope I teach you something in this video. Please leave a comment on what I need to Improve on and something helpful and positive . I didn't know this strategy before I learnt it and I picked it up really fast and we only had one math secession on this I feel happy that I learnt this fast.

My Maths DLO

Last week our teacher taught us a strategy and we need to make a DLO on how to teach you this strategy.
W.A.L.T add two digit numbers by first adding the ones and then the tens. I found it challenging when I did the subtraction on the mat with the teacher so I didn't film it on this video It was nervous that I would answer it wrong so I kept on practising  on this before I started filming this video.

Spencer Park

W.A.L.T Write an information report that informs the audience.

Success Criteria

I know I will be successful when….

• I use an opening statement that explains the subject of the report.

• The opening statement is followed by sentences that describe the event; what you saw, what you did, how you felt, what you learnt.
• Each paragraph focuses on a different aspect of the topic; travelling, the beach, the lagoon walk, playground.
• A general statement about the topic usually rounds off the report.

On Friday, 10th of March, Ako Ngatahi and some other classes went to Spencer park .I went in a car with Hope, Blessing, Annaliese , Janel and Addyson with Tash in her car. I was excited to go. I was wondering what I would do there and me and Hope were sitting with each other on the way.

Once we got there we got into our groups, my number was 4. First we went to the playground for 15 minutes I was playing with one of my friends we played on this thing where you climb up  and walk across It wasn't scary once I went to the end I jumped off and went to flying fox.

Next we went to the beach to find treasures for our art we are making sculptures and we got to play in the wet sand to play. I didn't though, because how will we clean our feet? I found a big shell when we were looking for some treasures for our art. I was walking with Miss Scott. I found a lot of shells. I found the perfect piece of driftwood so I went to one of the parents to write my name on It .

After that we walked back to the playground then we realised the time so we didn't have enough time to play. So we went on the long was we got told the big white webs that looked like a spiders  house was a spider protecting its children and the birds they  had long legs because the swamp where they lived makes you sink. We went up on this thing where you go up some stairs and you see a nice view  the the swampy thing.  

When we got back to the playground it was time for lunch. I ate my chips and my sandwiches then we got to play on the playground for 25 minutes I was playing with my friend Dominique after that we went to line up at the gate where the bus was but I went with Tash to her car to go back to school. When we got out of the car we needed to walk to the class and wait for the people on the bus I told Hope my favourite thing that I did was go to the beach and I learnt that spiders protect their babies by making a house out of webs.

Beach art

Our class have been doing beach art. We went  to Spencer Park for a class trip and some other classes went with us. Here is my sculptor  that I made with shell hot glue gun and drift wood. I hope you enjoy my photos and my creation. I named it 'The ocean house' because I got a idea from our schools 'Gateway of Learning'.  I had a big piece of drift wood so I snapped it but I lost the other piece so thats why the pieces of drift wood aren't the same colour or kind. W.A.L.T create an original sculptor using objects found on the beach. 

Make Ten Strategy

This week we have been learning to use the make ten strategy W.A.L.T  add three or more numbers by first making pairs that add to ten. We needed to make a video of how to do it so I hope I teach you something in this video.  Please leave a comment on what I need to improve on and something helpful bye.

                The Present

I was in bed at home I decided to get up and have pancakes for break fast . After that went into the bathroom so brush my teeth I was thinking about playing minecraft so I set up my game but it was to bright inside so shut all of the curtains and then I played my game. My mum came in and opened the curtains I said “It's too bright”.  My mum  put a present on the table and said open the present. I kept playing minecraft then I opened the present  and a puppy jumped out of the box. It scared me,  I saw she had three legs so ignored her with madness . She went to a red ball under the cabinet and she banged into the wall then  she grabbed the ball and gave it to me so I kicked the ball and she grabbed it and gave it back so  I said “Mum I'm going  outside to play”. But first I need to get my crutches. I felt happy about having a new friend like me. I wish I didn't ignore her. She  was the best present ever.

My Learning Goals 2017

This is my learning goals 2017 this slide show shows my learning goals for this year we copied and pasted our goals on the slide show. This shows my goals for reading, writing and math.  I am glad that these are my goals for this year, I think I will achieved them during the year.

                

Cyber Smarts DLO

On Thursday the 2nd  March  we went over to the High School and learnt Cyber smarts.  John told us not to tell our personal information. Personal information is where you live, your birth date, your school , Last name and your age.
John told us how to be safe on the internet he said not to answer mean messages from strangers. John also said with the mean messages we should screen shot them and put them in a folder and name the folder Mum and Dads Information.
