personalised passion projects

For my project i had painted a beach on a peice of glass with this glass paint, I did it cause i thought it would've been cool to look at after it was done and I was gonna put photos of my dead dogs in the background cause the glass paint dried clear. and i did the painting by myself. 

I didn't go to the first 3 passion project classes but when i started i liked the look of paintings on glass and i had gotten a idea to do it and i didn't brain storm at all i had just gotten started. I didn't really have a question for it all but i was still pretty curious on how nail polish remover got the glass paint off it, cause everytime I would mess it up I grabbed a cotton bud and dipped one end into nail polish remover and cleared my mistake. I did have quite a few plans with what i was going to do next I had started painting then i wrote down some more ideas from when i was next painting. like I had started doing the see but it was looking abit bland and so i put like white sand and blew onto the glass so it gave it a like bubbly looking look like how the sea has the white bubble stuff. 

The thing that i thought went pretty well was painting and doing the sand like with the textures cause i had grabbed a kebab stick and stuck the spiky end into black paint and then dipped little dots like onto the sand so it looks colourful. Some of the things that didn't go well was when my hand would keep like touching the wet pant and like it would smudge it all. I learnt about myself is that you like can't just give up if your idea doesnt work you just have to add more ideas onto it. I learnt about others that different people are into different things like for art wise people are into different types of art. I showed off the school values by being respectful with all the art things and the group i worked with we all cleaned up the area so it was clean for the next person.  

conclusion- overall I learnt that i could like paint sunsets and like beaches. I learnt quite a few painting tips while being in that project. while i was doing my project I would keep getting mad, and like stressed because my hand would alyways smudge it or my hair would get into it . next time I would probably be more creative.

 Article - Grace Millane Murder trial

The article i read was about the murder of Grace Millane she met this guy on tinder. they had their first date a few days before her 22nd birthday they had gone on a few dates before he had decided to take her back to where he was staying in a hotel. he had killed her after 12 just after it reached her birthday. he went out the next day and came back with a suitcase and cleaning supplies, he went back to his room and he had cleaned all the blood stains out of the carpet right where Grace Millane was murdered. while police had hunted for the missing body, the killer had already put her body into a suitcase, and had taken her body out to the Waitakere Ranges where he buried her in a shallow grave, just a few metres from the road. 

The police even had evidence on cameras that he took her back into the room but she never came back out and they had evidence of everywhere they had been hours before she was killed.

Sprituals

 A previous slave and "conductor" on the Underground Railroad, she utilized spirituals, for example, "Go Down Moses" to flag slaves that she was nearby, and would help any who needed to get away. 

Harriet Tubman was a ex slave, she had gotten away, and helped other people get the opportunity as a "conductor" of the Underground Railroad. 

The Underground Railroad was an organization of individuals, African American, offering help to got away from oppressed individuals from the South. The specific dates of its reality are not known, however it worked from the late eighteenth century to the Common War, 

Born into the world an oppressed lady named Araminta Ross, she took the name Harriet (Tubman was her hitched name) when, in 1849, she got away from slavery in Maryland with two of her siblings. Then two or after three weeks, yet Tubman left again all alone.

before they went to the US they had this boat they utilized this boat and everybody needed to set down for the entire excursion being tied up they either had a bucket or like they needed to go latrine where they were and there were individuals kicking the bucket close to them and they had no say in it cause they were going to the US from west africa to be sold

this was the boat they had used they were put in a thing on the boat where they had to lay down and stay there until they were in the us to be sold it was about half a metre high so they couldn't stand up or anything 

Treaty of Waitangi

What is waitangi day and why do we celebrate it? every year on the 6th of February. New Zealand marks the signing of the treaty in Waitangi in the year 1840. In 1840 the representatives of the British crown and over 500 maori chiefs signed what is often considered to be New Zealand founding document.

What were some of the problems / issues with the treaty? the land was lost through a combination of private and government purchases, outright confiscation and Native Land court practices that made it difficult for maori to maintain their land under traditional ownership structures. there was some purchases of maori land before the treaty was signed.
